... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CDT
today...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CDT today.
* Timing... periods of rain and snow will continue to fall across
the area. Some of the higher elevations of western Arkansas will
transition over to periods of all snow this morning through noon.
* Accumulations... accumulations in the advisory area will
generally be between 1 and 2 inches through this morning... with
higher amounts across west central Arkansas. Some higher
elevations across west Arkansas could see 2 to 3 inches.
* Main impact... air temperatures will remain near to just above
freezing during the time the snow falls. Taking into account
the warm ground temperatures... the highest snowfall will
likely be in the higher elevations and on grassy areas.
* Other impacts..areas of snow or slush may accumulate on some
area roadways... especially less traveled and elevated
surfaces. This may lead to some slippery driving conditions.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of wintry
precipitation will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution
while driving.
