... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am CDT this
morning...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of north central Iowa and northwest Iowa... including
the following areas... in north central Iowa... Humboldt and
Kossuth. In northwest Iowa... Emmet... Palo Alto and Pocahontas.
* Until 7 am CDT this morning
* the Palo Alto County sheriff reported that the ice jams that had
formed formed in the Des Moines River near West Bend... near
County Highway b63 and along 490th street... had diminished. No
flooding was observed.
* While no significant ice jam flooding had occurred since Monday
evening... the Des Moines River and East Fork Des Moines River
will continue to rise this week with the greatest ice jam flood
potential from Humboldt and Dakota City upstream to the
Minnesota border. Ice jam flash flooding may increase river
levels several feet in only an hour or two... rising at a much
faster rate than is presently occurring.

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

should flash flood warnings be issued.
