The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 10 am CST Saturday.
Dense fog is expected to develop across the area late tonight and persist into the morning hours Saturday... as the area remains under the influence of an area of surface high pressure... situated over central Illinois. Visibilities have already dropped into the 2 to 4 mile range across portions of central Iowa... and are expected to continue to fall to one quarter mile or less by the early morning hours. The dense fog is expected to persist through the mid morning hours Saturday... before lifting with improving visibilities by 10 am.
