A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT Sunday. * Timing... snow will continue across the area tonight... with periods of heavy snow possible. * Snow accumulations... of 8 to 12 inches are likely across the area by midday Sunday... with locally higher amounts possible. * Winds... of 20 to 25 mph with gusts approaching 35 mph will continue tonight. * Impacts... the gusty winds will result in some drifting of the snow. Snow covered and slick roads are expected... with some roads possibly becoming impassable tonight. The heavy wet snow may cause damage to outdoor vegetation which has already sprouted leaves. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning means significant winter weather is expected or occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
