* at 821 am EDT Thursday river levels continue to fall and many small rivers in eastern Massachusetts have fallen into minor flood. The exceptions are the Taunton river in Bridgewater which has lowered from major flood into now moderate flood... and the Ipswich river in Ipswich remains in moderate flood. Both of these rivers continue to fall slowly but will likely remain in moderate flood into at least Friday.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway... including underpasses. The water may be too deep to allow vehicles to cross safely... or the roadway may be undermined.

Follow the directions provided by your local emergency management officials. If you are asked to evacuate... do so immediately. Avoid flood prone locations. Know the alternate routes in your location so you avoid areas where flood waters may have damaged or closed area roadways.

The Flood Warning continues for the Assabet River at Maynard. * At 2:30 am Thursday the stage was 6.2 feet. * Flood stage is 5.0 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon. * Impact... at 6.0 feet... flooding is likely in low lying sections along the river including portions of Maynard... Hudson and Concord. Water may approach homes along the river and may force several localized Road closures.

Medfield... Millis... Medway... South Natick... Needham and Wellesley with Road closures and local evacuations possible.

In Lowell... Merrill street... joiners and Clark courts may be affected. In Billerica... Pershing street and stoney drive as well as the Elsie Avenue neighborhood will be affected. Follow the directions of emergency management officials.

The Flood Warning continues for the Sudbury River at Saxonville. * At 4:15 am Thursday the stage was 11.9 feet. * Flood stage is 10.0 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 11.1 feet by tomorrow morning. * Impact... at 12.0 feet... flooding affects low lying areas of Wayland... including Pelham Island Road near Heards Pond. A portion of shore drive near Stonebridge Road will be closed due to flooding. Flood waters may also affect routes 27 and 20 through Wayland.
