A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 10 am CDT this
morning.
* Location: parts of west central Missouri along and south of a
line from Belton... Fayetteville to Hughesville. Rural areas
will be more prone to seeing dense fog.
* Short term trends: areas of dense fog will continue to expand and
thicken through sunrise.
* Visibilities: the fog will reduce visibilities to as low as an
eighth of a mile in some areas. However... due to the patchy
nature and lack of depth to the fog other nearby areas may
only see visibilities reduced to a couple of miles.
* Impacts: motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing and
dangerous driving conditions as they drive in light fog with
visibilities of several miles and then quickly enter a pocket
of dense fog with visibilities reduced to an eighth of a mile.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
