... Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday morning...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri... including the
following areas... in southeast Kansas... Bourbon... Cherokee and
Crawford. In Missouri... Barry... Barton... Benton... Camden...
Cedar... Christian... Dade... Dallas... Dent... Douglas... Greene...
Hickory... Howell... Jasper... Laclede... Lawrence... Maries...
McDonald... Miller... Morgan... Newton... Oregon... Ozark...
Phelps... Polk... Pulaski... Shannon... St. Clair... stone...
Taney... Texas... Vernon... Webster and Wright.
* Through Monday morning
* rain and a wintry mix of precipitation will continue to fall
across the region into Sunday. Ground conditions are quite
moist... which will cause substantial runoff of precipitation
into small streams... creeks... and rivers. Some of this
rain... particularly over far southern Missouri... could be heavy
this morning.
* This heavy rainfall could cause flooding of small streams and
low water crossings... as well as main Stem rivers.
In addition... rapidly melting snow may result in a continued
threat for flooding early this week. Thus... this Flood Watch
may need to be extended beyond Monday morning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
