counties...
Local officials are reporting water continues over roadways in low
lying areas resulting from snowmelt and snow melt run off. Water has
overspread mainly County and township roads across the area. Clay
as well as Wilkin and Norman counties are reporting numerous County
and township roadways with water running over them or washed out.
Persons should be aware of water over roads across all of these
counties... with the probability of additional Road flooding as
melting and above freezing temperatures persist.
Parts Highway 9 south of Ada and Highway 200 east of Ada in Norman
County are closed due to water over the Highway.
Water is over the southbound Lane of Interstate 29 near mile marker
39 in Richland County. Water is also along The Shoulder of
Interstate 29 near mile marker 89 near Gardner in Cass County.
Ice jams are also a problem along area streams and rivers with water
breaking out into low lying areas.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Warning is issued for a specific community or an area along a
river where flooding has been forecast... is imminent... or is in
progress and is a threat to life and property.
Turn around dont drown. Avoid driving on flooded roads. Most flood
related deaths occur in automobiles.
The Flood Warning will remain in effect until the water has receded
and the flooding is no longer a hazard.
