A Flood Watch is in effect for overland and river flooding potential in southwest and south central North Dakota. The primary concern is overland flooding due to snowmelt runoff encountering plugged culverts and surface drainages... which may cause water to top local roadways.
A Flood Warning is in effect for Dickey... LaMoure... McIntosh and Logan counties in south central North Dakota. Overland flooding continues... and several roads have been washed out or closed due to blocked culverts and overflowing streams.
For the Missouri River Basin...
A Flood Warning is in effect for the Beaver Creek below Linton. Moderate flooding is occurring... with major flooding forecast to begin today. The forecast calls for a crest near 14.5 feet on Saturday.
A Flood Watch continues for Apple Creek near Menoken. The creek is forecast to crest near the flood stage of 15 feet on Saturday... with another crest possible in a couple of weeks.
For the James River Basin...
A Flood Warning is in effect for the James River near Grace City. Minor flooding is expected to begin Friday morning... with major flooding forecast by sundays crest of 15.3 feet.
A Flood Warning is in effect for the James River at LaMoure. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage today... and crest above moderate flood stage near 16.5 feet on Sunday.
A Flood Warning is in effect for the James River near Ludden dam. Minor flooding is occurring... and the forecast crest of 16.5 feet next week is just under major flood stage of 17 feet.
A Flood Watch is in effect for the Pipestem creek near Pingree. Minor flooding is possible by Sunday.
