* At 8:30 PM Sunday the stage was estimated at 19.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

overnight tonight... but may rise back over flood stage Tuesday morning.
Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:26 PM EDT on March 21, 2010
... Flood Watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday
afternoon...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of northern New Jersey and northwest
New Jersey... including the following areas... in northern New
Jersey... Middlesex... Morris... Somerset... Sussex and Warren. In
northwest New Jersey... Hunterdon.
* From Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon
* rain heavy at times later Monday afternoon and Monday night will
taper off during Tuesday as low pressure passes through the region.
General rain amounts are forecast to be in the range of one to
one and a half inches... with local amounts possibly around two
inches.
* Since streams and rivers are elevated... and surface and
especially subsurface moisture is high... additional small stream
and even river flooding could occur Monday night and Tuesday.
Residents in areas along the Passaic and Raritan River basins
where flooding was recent or even ongoing may experience renewed
flooding into the middle of this coming week... and are urged to
check preparedness requirements and be ready for action if a
warning is issued or flooding occurs.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Statement as of 5:24 PM EDT on March 21, 2010
