At 1 PM...a cold front stretched from Freedom...to Woodward...to near Crawford Oklahoma and southwestward into the Texas Panhandle. Northwest of the front...temperatures were in the upper 40s to the lower 50s...and north winds at around 20 mph were gusting over 30 mph. An extensive low cloud deck covered much of the area northwest of the front. Through 3 PM...the front will move slowly southward...reaching a line from Alva...to Seiling...to near Sweetwater Oklahoma. Southeast of the front...temperatures will be in the 60s and lower 70s. Southerly winds will carry moisture northward...and thunderstorms are expected to develop near the cold front from western North Texas into southwest and central Oklahoma late this afternoon. Some of these storms may pose a threat of strong wind gusts and marginally severe hail.

* Main impact: heavy snow and strong winds gusting over 40 mph creating near-blizzard conditions. Snowfall of 4 to 8 inches is likely over the warning area with. Local amounts over 8 inches will be possible across portions of central and east central Oklahoma.
* Other impacts: wind chill temperatures will fall into the teens.
