Patchy morning fog. Rain likely...with possible snow showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
Rain showers likely in the evening...tapering to scattered rain and snow showers after midnight. Little or no snow accumulation. Lows in the lower 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
Monday
Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain showers. Highs in the lower 40s. North winds around 10 mph.
* at 535 PM EST Doppler radar indicated rain continuing over the area. Streams and creeks are already out of their banks in some locations... and the additional rain will continue the flooding through the evening.
* Some locations that may experience flooding include... Chambersburg... Mercersburg... Bedford... Belden... Meyersdale... Somerset... confluence... Johnstown and Ebensburg.
Moderate rain will continue across the region through the early evening... then slowly begin to taper off later tonight. Some areas will see an additional half inch to one inch of rain before the precipitation ends.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Most flooding deaths occur in automobiles. Turn around dont drown!
A Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or is imminent. If you are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately.
