Fire Weather Watch
Statement as of 4:25 AM MDT on March 18, 2010
... Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon
through Friday evening...
The combination of rh values dropping to 15 percent or less...
warm dry air... and 20 foot winds of 20 mph or greater may result
in critical fire weather conditions across southeast New Mexico
and portions of West Texas Friday afternoon into Friday evening.
Although cooling temperatures will likely alleviate critical fire
weather conditions... winds will abruptly shift to the north Friday
night behind a strong cold front.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.
