An area of showers... with isolated thunderstorms... will continue to move through south central Virginia... and far interior northeast North Carolina through 1000 am. The showers and storms were moving north 40 mph. Locally heavy rain is expected with these showers and storms. Wind gusts to 40 to 50 mph and small hail are also possible. If you can hear thunder... you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
